Further information about ticks:
Ticks particularly live in the herbage of meadows, in the undergrowth and at the edges of forests. They crawl up grasses or bushes up to 1 metre from where they let themselves fall down onto passing animals or humans. Ticks can transfer dangerous pathogens. But there are good chances to protect pets and humans against an infection if ticks are removed within a few hours after tick bite. While removing the following points have to be considered:
- The tick may not be treated with oil, adhesives or something similar.
- Catch the tick’s head with special tweezers as close as possible to the skin and unscrew it completely.
- Do not press the tick’s body.
- Please disinfect the bite with an antiseptic ointment
